The Nevada Museum of Art in Reno has more than 19,000 items in its Burning Man Archive. It has taken a tiny portion of those items & put them on permanent display in the Research Library at the newly expanded 4,000+ square foot addition, with an entrance on California Ave. The Research Library has more than 15,000 books on a wide variety of subjects. It also has 9 binders containing hundreds of written materials, articles publications & theses about Burning Man.

There are also more than 30 Burning Man DVDs. The Burning Man display cabinet has several drawers you can pull out to see more relics, including artifacts from the early beach burns, the Cacophony Society & the Suicide Club.

On the wall at the entrance is a large clockwork: “Centuries of the Bristlecone” which shows Standard time vs Bristlecone time. Think of it as the atomic clock & Gregorian calendar versus “Bristlecone time” which is based upon the annual growth of the Bristlecone pine trees on top of Mt. Washington in Great Basin National Park in Nevada. It was conceived of by artist Jonathon Keats, collaborating with Phil Abernethy, Brittany Nicole Cox, Jason Iceman, Ian Van Coller, & The Long Now Foundation.
